We will divide skin into dry and oily. There is also normal skin, for which we can use all makeup products, as well as combination skin, which we will treat like oily skin.
Makeup for oily skin
If we have oily skin, before applying makeup we should pat a mattifying product into cleansed skin. This will prevent excessive shine and help the makeup last longer. The next step is choosing a foundation. We should choose a foundation designed specifically for oily skin, as it will absorb excess sebum and therefore look good on our face. Once we have chosen the type of foundation, it is worth selecting the right shade. Let us remember to choose the foundation shade in daylight. It is best to check the shade along the jawline—the foundation must blend in color with the neck, since we will not apply any color products to it.
Once we have chosen the foundation, it is time for setting powder. It can be pressed or loose powder. It may have a subtle tint or be transparent. The important thing is that it should absorb excess sebum from our skin.
After choosing the powder, it is time for blush. If we have oily skin, let us use a dry, pressed or loose product. If we want, we can additionally choose a bronzing powder, which should also be a dry product.
If we have very oily skin, we should limit our use of illuminating powder, and if we really want to use it, we should apply it in small amounts.
Next, our makeup should include concealer under the eyes, an eyeshadow primer, eyeshadows, optionally an eye pencil or eyeliner, and of course mascara.
Makeup—dry skin
If we have dry skin, let us choose wet-look, creamy products. Before applying makeup, let us ensure that our skin is properly moisturized. Let us choose a foundation for dry skin with strong moisturizing properties and particles that will optically illuminate the skin. If we want, we can choose cream blush, bronzer and highlighter. These types of products will look great on dry skin and add radiance to it. Eye makeup will look the same as in the case of oily skin. We can use both dry and cream eyeshadows.
