- As every year, we will officially inaugurate Jakuby on the Old Town Bridge on Friday, 28 August, at 6:30 p.m.
- Before the opening of Jakuby, we will meet—everyone who is willing and able—outside the Jakub Gate, that is, by the so-called little fountain at the intersection of Daszyńskiego and Struga streets, at 5:30 p.m.
- A musical and historical procession will set out from the Jakub Gate towards the Old Town Bridge. Therefore, an appeal to everyone who would like to take part: if you can, dress in historical costumes or simply… as witches, peasants, noblemen, or whatever your imagination suggests and your wardrobe allows.
- It is worth dressing up because, firstly, it is always great fun; and secondly, people in costume will be able to have their photographs taken free of charge in a special photo booth set up in Przedmieście Nyskie. The photographs will be printed on the spot on photographic paper with special additions.
- On the opening day, we enthusiastically recommend and encourage everyone to see the musical, laser and historical spectacle, which will begin at around 9:00 p.m. near Pocztowy Square and the Old Town Bridge. A “wow” effect guaranteed.
- Dancing by the Jakuby stage is highly encouraged.
- Overindulging in Jakuby beverages is strongly discouraged.
- Those interested in performances on the theatre meadow (near the Greek Boulevard) may bring blankets or folding seats for their own comfort. Seating will indeed be provided, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
- Motorists from Zgorzelec would do better to leave their steel steeds at home and walk to Jakuby. Why get stressed while looking for a parking space?
- We check the weather forecasts constantly, but the forecasters seem rather undecided. In case of hot weather, it is therefore worth bringing a small plastic bottle of water; in case of rain—well, either an umbrella or plastic raincoats.
- It is better not to bring cats, dogs, hamsters, ferrets or other such animals to Jakuby, whether on a leash or, even more so, without one. This is entertainment for people; animals only get tired.
Come along ;).
