- On Friday, August 7, residents of Bolesławiec used a record amount of water in the city’s history to date. On that day, 9,700 m³ was used, reports Józef Król, president of the Bolesławiec Water and Sewerage Company. Despite the prevailing heat, PWiK does not anticipate any supply restrictions. “At our intakes and water treatment plants, we can produce more than 24,000 m³ of good-quality, safe water per day,” the president adds.
“This level of water security for the city has become possible because, in recent years, PWiK has introduced modern management systems using the latest technological advances,” points out Bolesławiec mayor Piotr Roman. It is worth recalling that the latest investment was completed in 2014. The reconstruction of the “Rakowice” water intake and treatment plant was carried out with financial support from the Wrocław Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. Thanks to the modernisation, water with spring-water parameters flows from the taps in Bolesławiec.
