Firefighters from across Zgorzelec County had a busy Saturday. A forest was burning near the village of Zielonka. Firefighters from OSP Ruszów, Węgliniec, Czerwona Woda, Jagodzin, JRG PSP Zgorzelec, as well as forest services and a firefighting aircraft, took part in the operation, which began after 7:00 p.m.
An hour later, while the fire was still being extinguished, a violent storm arrived. Strong winds broke and knocked trees onto the road between Zielonka and Węgliniec. Firefighters removed around 30 trees from the road. The wind also brought down trees along the Ruszów–Jagodzin route and in Węgliniec and Czerwona Woda. Firefighters intervened in all the aforementioned locations. The operation ended at around 10:30 p.m.
