The istotne.pl portal organized a puppy adoption campaign. In this way, we support the Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Obywatelskich z Bielawy. Its member, Marzanna Fijałkowska, cooperates with us. She takes care of the puppies looking for homes. If one of the little ones captures your heart, call Marzanna at 609 44 33 65. The association is looking for good homes and responsible, mature owners.
Five boys and one girl took part in the campaign – candidates for Miss and Mister of the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. The election is organized by the Bolesławiecki Ośrodek Kultury Międzynarodowe Centrum Ceramiki. It will take place on Sunday, August 23 (at 6:00 p.m. on the stage at Piłsudskiego Square). The Miss and Mister Internet voting on istotne.pl has been open since August 14.

The photos were taken at Galeria Bolesławiec City Center. We received tremendous support here and were treated with great kindness. A room was made available for the session, and technical assistance was provided. Thank you.
We also extend our thanks to the volunteers who looked after the dogs during the session: Julia, Kasia, Dorota and Aneta from Bolesławiec, as well as Daniela and Oliwia from Lwówek.
The photos of the models were taken by Krzysztof Gwizdała. The idea and organization were provided by Grażyna Hanaf.
The puppies’ story
The puppies come from a single home in the Lwówek Śląski municipality. There are fifteen dogs in the household in total. Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Obywatelskich z/s w Bielawie covered the cost of sterilizing the female dogs. Nine females have already been sterilized. However, it turned out that every female was pregnant. Therefore, the procedures had to be abortions by sterilization. If the dogs had not been sterilized, another 25 puppies would have been born. The association would then have had to care for a total of 53 dogs from one household. The municipality would have faced a huge problem placing all the dogs in overcrowded shelters. No shelter would have accepted that many dogs, as this is the municipality’s average annual limit for dogs placed in shelters.
Another household cared for by the association is located in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki. There are more than 30 dogs there, including around 10 puppies that nobody wants. That is why spaying female dogs, limiting unwanted litters, and every form of support and assistance provided to the animals and the association are so important.
