In their third pre-season friendly, BKS’s senior team lost 1–2 to Budowlani Lubsko. The first half belonged to the visitors. Budowlani Lubsko played confidently on the pitch and did not allow BKS to build attacks near their goal. During this period, Budowlani goalkeeper Manuel Kowalski was practically unemployed. Budowlani Lubsko scored from a penalty. Dariusz Kordiak was the scorer. Dariusz Kordiak. At half-time, Budowlani led BKS Bolesławiec 1–0.
The second half looked completely different. BKS Bolesławiec began attacking, and the numerous mistakes made by Budowlani allowed us to create a series of attacks, resulting in an equaliser by Emmanuel Ohagwu. We continued attacking, and just when it seemed that BKS’s winning goal would come at any moment, the visitors launched an attack after which they took a 2–1 lead. Following a powerful shot by the visitors, the ball unfortunately deflected off Krzysztof Janicki and deceived Bartek Bochnia, who was standing on the goal line. The score did not change before the end of the match, and BKS’s narrow defeat became a fact.
Despite the defeat, BKS’s performance, especially in the second half, offers hope for the future. Despite the difficult squad situation and organisational problems, there is hope that both BKS and good-quality football will not disappear from Bolesławiec. Thanks to the commitment of a handful of enthusiasts, the team still exists.
