The accident occurred on Friday (July 17) near Raciborowice (Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality), on the road toward Żeliszów. A Volvo car veered off the road and hit a tree. Three young people were traveling in the vehicle: a resident of Bolesławiec County and two residents of Lwówek County.
An 18-year-old resident of Lwówek County died at the scene; his 17-year-old fellow resident was taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec.
The 19-year-old from our county, who was driving the vehicle, was transported by the Polish Medical Air Rescue service to a hospital in Legnica.
The driver was traveling very fast. This is indicated by the skid marks, which begin about 150 meters before the collision site. After the collision, the car wrapped around the tree. The vehicle had Bolesławiec registration plates.
