The tournament was played in a group-and-knockout format. Teams from Czechia, Poland and Germany entered the competition. The pairs from Bolesławiec were placed in different groups. Przemysław and Piotr faced two pairs from Czechia and Poland. The young volleyball players managed to win one match, which secured their advancement from the group and qualification for the quarter-finals, while the older players, Mateusz and Tomasz, won two matches against Czech teams and suffered one defeat to a pair from Germany.
In the quarter-finals, the players from Bolesławiec—much to their disappointment—had to face each other for a place in the semi-finals. The senior BTS Elektros Bolesławiec players emerged victorious from the encounter. For Przemek and Piotrek, this meant the end of the tournament. The players regretted that, after the unfortunate draw, only one pair from the City of Ceramics had a chance to reach the final “four”.
In the semi-final, Tomasz and Mateusz faced the eventual tournament winners, the Czech players from VK Litvinow. A 2:0 defeat meant that, as at the previous tournament, they would play for third place. In the “consolation final”, the players from Bolesławiec had no trouble defeating their opponents from Czechia. After winning 2:0, BTS Elektros once again had representatives on the podium.
The BTS Elektros Bolesławiec volleyball players thank Cer-Art for helping organize the trip and invite fans to the beach volleyball tournament, which will be held on Saturday, 18 July at the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec (Spacerowa Street). It begins at 10:00.
