Satyrykon honours with its Pins people who have outstanding achievements in driving pins into mental stereotypes, reject hypocrisy, maintain distance from the world around them and, above all, from themselves.

This year, the Pins will go to Maria Czubaszek – because she “cannot be outtalked or imitated, but always makes people laugh” – and to Michał Walczak and Maciej Łubieński – creators of the theatre-cabaret group “Pożar w burdelu”, for their “wit, bravado, perceptiveness and self-irony”.

The decision on who receives the Pins is made by a distinguished Chapter, which this year consisted of: Artur Andrus, Grzegorz Miecugow, Sylwia Chutnik, Wojciech Orliński, Piotr Cieplak and Grzegorz Szczepaniak. The Chapter faced a difficult task, as the nominees included, among others: Radio Trójka, Andrzej Poniedzielski, Adam Nawałka, Michał Witkowski, Jan Koza and Abelard Giza of the Limo cabaret.

Satyrykon has awarded the Pins since 2013. So far, they have gone to: Maria Peszek, Marek Raczkowski, Tymon Tymański and Robert Górski.

The Satyrykon Pin statuette was designed and made in bronze by Leszek Michalski, a sculptor from Warsaw.
