Our team’s trip to Kobierzyce was unsuccessful, as they return from a difficult venue having conceded four goals and scored just once. However, the beginning of the match did not suggest such a bad outcome.
The beginning of Saturday’s match saw a slight advantage for BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec, who looked better during this period and created several good chances to score. In the 6th minute, Pawlusiński played an excellent pass to Kraśnicki on the right, sending him one-on-one with the visiting goalkeeper. Unfortunately for BKS, the midfielder’s technical shot went just wide of the GKS Kobierzyce goal, and we had to settle for disappointment. BKS continued to maintain the pace and, as a result, had another chance to score in the 18th minute. Dzięgleski brilliantly dribbled past two visiting defenders just outside the penalty area and fired at goal, but unfortunately for us, the GKS goalkeeper managed to deflect the ball for a corner.
In the 25th minute, Wojciechowski made a good move, playing the ball from a sharp angle to Pawlusiński, but our striker’s shot was once again saved by the Kobierzyce goalkeeper. Unfortunately, a moment later, a situation occurred that changed the course of the match to BKS’s disadvantage. In the 26th minute, following an error by our defense, GKS Kobierzyce launched a counterattack and scored to take a 1–0 lead. From that moment, our boys’ play no longer looked as good as it had in the opening minutes, while the hosts sensed an opportunity to win and began attacking Purta’s goal. In the 36th minute, the score was already 2–0 after a deflection, and it became clear that earning even a point would be difficult that day. As if that were not enough, Wakulski had to leave the field with a serious-looking injury, although Ziółkowski replaced him very well.
The picture of the game did not change significantly in the second half. The hosts attacked more often, while BKS was unable to respond and focused on protecting access to its own goal. In the 60th minute, BKS goalkeeper Purta produced an excellent save, stopping a powerful shot from the GKS Kobierzyce striker. Unfortunately, five minutes later, the young BKS goalkeeper could do nothing and had to retrieve the ball from the net for the third time. Eleven minutes later, after a well-worked corner, GKS scored to make it 4–0.
Fortunately, the BKS players did not give up until the end and gave their supporters a moment of joy late in the match. In the 89th minute, Ziółkowski, who was having a very good game that day, played a strong, precise pass to Wojciechowski, who struck at the hosts’ goal first time. The ball also hit the crossbar before crossing the goal line, giving us a consolation goal and setting the final score at 4–1 to the hosts.
Unfortunately, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec’s run of three away matches turned out very poorly, and we must return as quickly as possible to the form we showed a few rounds earlier. Next weekend, back at Spółdzielcza, we will host the Dolnośląska IV liga outsider Chojnowianka Chojnów.
