At the request of Tadeusz Krzakowski, the City Council adopted an amendment to the resolution concerning fares and transport concessions for passengers of the Municipal Transport Company. The councillors were unanimous.
The resolution introduces the so-called Legnica integrated ticket for all residents. It allows passengers to travel simultaneously on Koleje Dolnośląskie trains and MPK buses. This is possible thanks to an agreement concluded by the Legnica municipality and the regional railway carrier operated by the local government.
The integrated ticket will be financially attractive, especially for people who use bus and rail transport every day, commuting, for example, to work or to study in Wrocław. The price of this ticket will be approximately 20 percent lower than the cost of two monthly tickets purchased separately for an MPK bus and a train. Passengers will receive the rail portion at a lower price, while within Legnica, for the price of a named monthly ticket for one line, they will be able to travel on all urban and suburban MPK routes on every day of the month.
Suburban routes serve localities with which the municipality has signed agreements. At the same time, instead of PLN 100 per month, passengers will pay only PLN 76. The project partners estimate that, over one year, people using Legnica public transport and Koleje Dolnośląskie will be able to save approximately PLN 1,000. The “Legnica integrated ticket” will be available for purchase at ticket offices at the railway stations in Legnica and Wrocław.
The amendment to the resolution will also provide an additional benefit to Legnica residents who hold the Large Family Card. For them, a single “family” MPK ticket will cost PLN 1. A 30-day family ticket for all urban and suburban routes will cost PLN 30. Passengers entitled to these concessions must carry the Card and an identity document.
All Legnica residents who hold the Card will also be able to use the integrated ticket—valid simultaneously on a Koleje Dolnośląskie train and all MPK bus routes—by paying only PLN 30 for its bus portion.
