Sunday’s match was extremely important for both teams. After a run of three consecutive defeats, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec were trying to get back on track and finally earn points, while AKS Strzegom need points to avoid relegation to the district league. This influenced the course of the match, and both teams produced an entertaining contest full of effort, which ended with the points shared.

The start of the match was evenly balanced, and apart from a few long-range shots, neither side created any clear chances. However, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec gradually gained the upper hand, and as a result we took the lead in the 16th minute. Janicki threw the ball from a throw-in into the penalty area, and after being touched by one of our players it reached Wojciechowski. Popularly known as Kapi, he had no trouble putting it into the net to make it 1–0 for BKS. The goal did not put our players to sleep; they immediately pushed to extend the lead. A perfect opportunity came in the 17th minute, but Pawlusiński failed to convert a one-on-one chance against the goalkeeper.

During this phase of the match, AKS Strzegom limited themselves to a few shots at our goal, but they were not dangerous enough for the hosts to think about equalising. In the 24th minute, Kraśnicki made an excellent run down the right, but the powerful shot by our midfielder went over the AKS goal’s crossbar. When it seemed that nothing more would happen before the break, BKS launched another good attack that brought joy to the BKS supporters. In the 40th minute, Wojciechowski brilliantly beat two defenders and found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who was better than our striker this time. The ball nevertheless fell to Pawlusiński, who smartly played it to Dudka, and he placed a technical shot just inside the post to make the half-time score 2–0 for BKS.

In the second half, we saw a completely different AKS Strzegom, who quickly scored a goal to get back into the match. In the 47th minute, Kapusz unfortunately handled the ball in the penalty area, leaving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. Domaradzki confidently converted the penalty, Domaradzki, and from that moment the hosts looked completely different than they had in the first half. Three minutes later, Kraśnicki had an excellent opportunity to score a third goal, but our player lifted the ball over the visitors’ crossbar.

AKS Strzegom sensed a chance to equalise and began creating dangerous situations in front of our goal. During this period, AKS produced three very good shots that missed our goal by only a few centimetres. In the 65th minute, after another good attack by the hosts, Janiczak made an excellent save, instinctively stopping a powerful shot. In the 84th minute, it should have been 3–1 for BKS. Pawlusiński was in an excellent position, but his shot struck the hosts’ post and bounced back into play. Three minutes later, a shot by Pawlusiński also found its way into the hosts’ net, but the referee judged the BKS striker to have been offside. When it seemed that we would see out the victory, AKS struck in the 89th minute to bring the score level. Demirov then produced a precise free-kick to set the final score at 2–2.Demirov

Neither side was satisfied with sharing the points, as both BKS and AKS were left feeling they had missed an opportunity. We watched two completely different halves, and taking that into account, the draw can be considered fair. It must nevertheless be emphasised that if we had taken the chances we created, all three points would have remained in our hands. The end of the poor run is a positive, and we will look for a win next week, when we again play away against GKS Kobierzyce.
