On Saturday, BKS’s senior team began a new season of football competition. Unfortunately, our team lost its first away match. BKS fell to Górnik Złotoryja 1–2. The opening stages of the match were controlled by BKS. In the 20th minute, Łukasz Akacki sent the ball into the net. BKS’s newly acquired striker capitalized on an uncertain intervention by the Górnik goalkeeper, scoring on the rebound. Bolesławiec’s players maintained their advantage until the end of the first half, but failed to confirm it with another goal.
In the 65th minute, after Paweł Demczar’s sliding tackle, the BKS goalkeeper picked up the ball. The referee deemed this a pass and awarded a free kick to Górnik. The hosts took advantage of the opportunity, and after Dariusz Wojtachnio’s shot the score was 1–1. In the 80th minute, Górnik took a 2–1 lead. Krzysztof Kaliciak scored the winning goal for the hosts.
Bolesławiec’s Summer Friendlies
Before the senior team began the season, it played three friendly matches. On 19 July, Bolesławiec’s players defeated Czarni Lwówek 2–0. In the next match, on 22 July, our footballers lost to Chrobry Głogów 0–3. On 29 July, BKS defeated Czerny Żagań 1–0.
Changes to the BKS Team
New players have joined the senior team. Tomasz Krzywonos, from Piast Nowa Ruda, will play as a midfielder. Łukasz Akacki, from Miedź Legnica, is expected to strengthen the attack. Paweł Fulczyński and Wojtek Walusiak have left the club. It is known that the former will play for Twardy Świętoszów. As for the latter, all that is known is that he has not begun training with a team. Marcin Ciliński will continue to coach BKS in the 2006/2007 season. Former club juniors Grzegorz Kmiecik and Waldemar Kosobucki are available to the coach. Current juniors Szajwaj, Markowski and Jaśkiewicz are also training with the senior team.
The Club’s Goals for the 2006/2007 Season
This season, BKS’s senior team will fight for the highest possible position in the IV league. “We want to perform better than in the previous season. Ideally, we would finish between fourth and sixth place in the table,” says Edward Kaput. The BKS president does not hide the fact that the club’s financial condition is not good. “We invite everyone to cooperate with and support our club, and of course to attend our team’s matches,” adds the BKS president. Next Saturday at 5:00 p.m., Bolesławiec’s team will host Górnik Wałbrzych.
