Mayor Piotr Roman is a member of the AGH Social Council. The ceremony presenting certificates confirming admission to the Social Council of the AGH University of Science and Technology was held on June 9 in Krakow. The Social Council is appointed by the rector for the duration of their term of office. The council consists of university representatives, representatives of various branches of industry and research institutes, as well as representatives of the authorities and the political world.
The tasks of the Social Council include, among other things, supporting the development of science and technology; exchanging information on employers’ expectations of AGH graduates; jointly formulating proposals to adapt the educational, training and research offerings to the current expectations of companies and institutions; and cooperation and information exchange between the communities represented on the council.
