The committee had the pleasure of hearing business presentations full of passion and conviction. Young talents need support, including financial support, as declared by the hosts of the gala and co-organizers of the competition: Bolesławiec County head Dariusz Kwaśniewski and the initiator of the project, Karol Stasik, president of the Bolesławiec Business Association and chairman of the County Council.

The competition evaluates a business idea, business plan, vision and—importantly—the ability to present and persuade others of one’s concepts during a direct meeting with the committee. All skills are taken into account because this competition is intended to point the way, inspire bold decisions, encourage creative self-presentation and assess the viability of a potential business. It is only the combination of all these competencies that determines the final result.

Twenty-seven entries from schools in Bolesławiec County and neighboring counties were submitted for the 13th edition of the competition. From among the entries, the committee selected the most promising business plans. Zakłady Ceramiczne funded the statuette, while the distinctive “cube” was created by Janina Bany-Kozłowska. Bolesławiec County arranged cash prizes for the top three places, while the remaining prizes were funded by BTG and Agora Bookshop.

First place, the “Young Entrepreneur” statuette and a cash prize of PLN 1,000 went to Wiktor Baranowski from the Janusz Korczak Secondary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec for his Crazy Bubble business idea. The student’s mentor is Beata Solpa-Tertel.

Wiktor based his concept on the simple idea of introducing a new, slightly crazy sport to the Bolesławiec market—playing football inside inflatable bubbles. Although the idea is simple, Wiktor won the committee over with a consistent and realistic business plan. The committee members, who deal with large sums of money on a daily basis, appreciated it.

A realistic, coherent plan and a brilliant presentation are Wiktor’s strengths—and he is serious about his business. Our laureate is a true “science-minded” person, not only when it comes to business calculations. He is interested in classical and modern physics, ecology, technology and economics.

Second place and a cash prize of PLN 700 went to the Depression and Work-Related Stress Treatment Clinic created by Marta Ziółkowska and Mateusz Nawrocki from the Secondary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec. The team’s mentor is Agnieszka Koplin. Marta and Mateusz have a genuine vision of creating a good place on earth where people can regain health and balance with the help of therapists, but above all through contact with animals and nature. The committee was impressed by the scale of their plans, although they will certainly not be easy to implement, as well as by the fact that Marta’s personal experiences inspired the creation of such a stress-free haven. Marta is interested in programming and literature. Mateusz, meanwhile, is passionate about theater and is himself an actor in the Bolesławiec theater group Z Jednej Gliny.

Third place and a cash prize of PLN 400 went to the Troska w Obiektywie company, created by Paulina Bożęcka and Klaudia Dzedzej from the Complex of General and Vocational Schools in Bolesławiec on Komuny Paryskiej Street. The team’s mentor is Edyta Gorczyca. Klaudia and Paulina are highly empathetic and kind-hearted, which is why providing care under camera supervision does not frighten them. Children and older people will certainly be satisfied with the service, cared for attentively by our carers and watched over by a camera. The girls are also interested in art, economics, cooking and sport.

Two distinctions were also awarded, receiving the same number of points. They went to the Reksio company of Weronika Sobczyszyn, Laura Nebesna and Dorota Wiśniewska from Secondary School No. 1, and Patryk Szulc’s Ozyrys company. Each entry also received a PLN 200 cash bonus. The mentor of the distinguished contestants is Agnieszka Koplin.

Dorota, Weronika and Laura love animals, so it is no surprise that they decided to turn their passion into a business. Reksio would be both a dog-walking company and a hotel and hairdresser for four-legged friends. If Reksio is established, many people will certainly entrust their pets to good hands. The girls also have broad interests: photography, history, singing, music, books and travel. Laura even says that she would like to travel around the world in the future.

An equal distinction went to Patryk Szulc’s Ozyrys business plan. Patryk keeps his feet firmly on the ground and is not afraid of difficult subjects, including passing away and death. His company would provide the best final farewells.
