Saturday’s match in Żary, which brought together the leading teams from the Lubusz and Lower Silesian IV leagues, was one of the final tests before the return to league action. It is therefore no surprise that both teams approached the encounter seriously, giving us an interesting, even and extremely fiercely contested match.

In the first half, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec looked the better side, more often threatening Promień Żary’s defence, where we saw the familiar Kamil Ganczarek. Three new faces appeared in our team’s starting lineup. Patryk Janiczak, who played for second-tier Górnik Wałbrzych in the autumn, started in goal. In midfield, we saw Przemysław Kotlarz (Leśnik Osiecznica) and Paweł Pytlarz (Polonia Trzebnica). Emmanuel Ohagwu scored the only goal of the first half, converting a good cross from the right to give our team a 1–0 lead.

In the second half, the hosts set about making up the deficit and increasingly appeared near our penalty area. Cezary Purta, a product of our club who spent the autumn at Leśnik Osiecznica, was in goal for our team during this period. Promień Żary equalised with a successful penalty, and moments later took a 2–1 lead. The final word belonged to BKS. Kacper Wojciechowski showed great presence of mind in a goalmouth scramble, putting the ball into the visitors’ net and setting the final score at 2–2.

BKS started the match with: Janiczak, Pazio, Wakulski, Bochnia, Kapusz, Kosior, Dzięgleski, Kotlarz, Pytlarz, Ohagwu, Pawlusiński.

In the second half, the following players appeared for our team: Purta, Kraśnicki, Wojciechowski, Ziółkowski, Czernatowicz.
