Last year, the honorary award went to Janina Bany-Kozłowska, the chief designer at Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec”, who in January 2015 received one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage: the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.

In 2014, the mayor also honored Wałbrzyska Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna „Invest-Park” Sp. z o.o., one of the fastest-growing industrial zones in Poland. This year, WSSE „Incest-Park” was one of the parties that established the Educational Cluster, an agreement under which students of Bolesławiec vocational schools and technical schools will be able to undertake specialist internships and work placements, and will also be employed in the zone.

Portal Istotne.pl has received awards from the mayor twice. In 2013, it was recognized for cameras showing the most interesting places in Bolesławiec; in 2014, our journalist Grażyna Hanaf received an award for promoting the city in the culture category.

At Thursday’s gala, on February 19 at 5:00 p.m., we will learn who best promoted the city in 2014. Among those nominated for the award are: artist Stanisława Wojda-Pytlińska, an instructor at BOK-MCC; Bolesławiecka Szkoła Filmowa; Halina Waniak, head of the Association of Reemigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends; the BOK-MCC film studio; or Stefan Olejnik, a distinguished PTTK guide.
