On Sunday, the Strongman Competition was held at Priest Popiełuszko Square. Zbigniew Klimek won the overall classification (22 points). Wojciech Wojciechów came second (21 points). The remaining places went to Piotr Kręzel (20), Przemysław Kulczycki (14), Marek Predko (7) and Bartosz Zawada (5).

The overall classification was decided by points earned in the individual events. The first was the Strongman Relay, consisting of three elements. The first was the so-called bus driver’s walk. The competitor had to cover a distance of 20 metres while carrying a 120 kg structure on his shoulders. In the second part of the relay, the competitors threw three bags weighing 50, 60 and 80 kg onto a ramp. The final element was the “Farmer’s Walk”. This time, the competitors had to carry two 50 kg suitcases.

The next event was the “Weight of Tears”. The competitor’s task was to hold a 15 kg weight for as long as possible. The weight had to be held at forehead height with the arms fully extended. The third event involved “Pulling a Car”. The competitors had to pull a car over a distance of 20 metres in the shortest possible time. The car weighed 1,500 kg.

The penultimate event involved pressing a log from shoulder level to fully extended arms. The log weighed 50 kg. The winner was the competitor who pressed the log the most times.

The final event was the “Clock”. A special structure was used for this event. It consisted of a 1-metre-high base with a 3-metre-long arm attached to it. The weight suspended from the arm was 150 kg. The competitor’s task was to lift the arm and cover the longest possible distance around the circumference of a circle.

The Strongman Competition was held as part of Bolesławiec Days. The strength competition was organised by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre.
