This year's festival will be held under new rules. The previous division of participants into amateurs and professionals will be discontinued.

Any soloist aged 16 to 35 may enter the competition. The only people excluded from this opportunity are previous Grand Prix winners. Performers who, based on tapes submitted with their recordings, are selected for the competition by the festival's artistic council, which will meet in September, will then appear before a jury chaired by Wojciech Młynarski.

Each contender for victory will have to sing three songs during the auditions, including at least one in the original language. In addition to the cash prize, the prestige associated with the Grand Prix of the Lubin festival is an incentive to perform.

Previous winners include Katarzyna Skrzynecka, Małgorzata Duda, Małgorzata Kościelniak, Joanna Kurowska, Katarzyna Lotz and Jacek Bończyk. The National French Song Festival in Lubin is one of Poland's largest events promoting French culture on such a broad scale. Its history dates back to the early 1980s.
