On Saturday, February 7, BTS Elektros Bolesławiec’s senior team played away against Ogień Żmigród. After losing the first set, which our volleyball players did not give up without a fight, Bolesławiec’s team regained its focus and began to dictate the course of the match. The next three sets were controlled by the visitors. Our team won 3:1 (24:26, 25:15, 25:17, 25:12).

Commentary by Tomasz Włoszczyński, usually the captain of our volleyball team, who replaced Krzysztof Mosiądz as coach last Saturday:

I am pleased with my successful debut as a coach. The players deserve the greatest credit, of course. Each of them contributed to the victory. Matches against the team from Żmigród are always difficult; they are an awkward opponent. In the first set, despite leading, our opponents caught up with us toward the end. We lost 26:24, but that was only a bad beginning to a good outcome.

The following sets were complete domination by us, as the scores show—we won them 15, 17 and 12. The team fully carried out the tactical plan, and it paid off. Thanks to good reception play, our setter was able to distribute the balls freely to the attackers, directing a large share of them to the middle blockers.

BTS Elektros played with: Krawiec (C), Sławnikowski, Walkowiak, Mesjasz, Nitecki, Marcinkiewicz, Biczak (L), as well as Wójtowicz, Karwacz and Włoszczyński.

This Saturday, in the final match of the group stage, our team will face a side from Góra on its home court.

It is also worth noting that on February 7, BTS Bolesławiec’s cadet team also won, defeating the team from Milicz 3:1 away from home (25:22, 25:18, 21:25, 25:18).

Next Sunday, our cadets will once again play away, competing for fifth place against the team from Świdnica. The return match will take place in Bolesławiec in two weeks.
