Over two days last weekend, mountain bike races and marathons were held. Competitors came to Bolesławiec from Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic. On Saturday at 11:00, the mountain bike races began. More than 100 competitors took part. The race course was marked out in the municipal forests above the petrol station on Tysiąclecia Street. The competitions were held in women’s and men’s categories, divided into various age groups. In the Women’s category (born in 1987 and earlier, distance 9.6 km), first place, with a time of 00:29:34, went to Magdalena Balana of AZS Politechnika Rzeszowska. In the Masters category (born in 1976 and earlier, distance 19.2 km), Szymon Paszek of Cyklosport Bolesławiec won. His time was 00:52:48. In the Elite category (born 1987–77, distance 28.8 km), first place, with a time of 01:07:45, went to Mariusz Kowal of Weltur Rowery.

On Sunday, two marathons were held. Competitors from various age categories took part. Tomasz Pierwocha of the RMF FM Mountain Dew club completed the Small Marathon (21 km) fastest. His time was 00:50:55. The fastest competitor from Bolesławiec was Kosma Gąsiorowski. With a time of 00:54:06, he finished fourth. Mariusz Kowal of Weltur Rowery won the Large Marathon (65 km). His time was 02:28:51. The competitors from Cyklosport Bolesławiec also performed well. Dariusz Poroś finished sixth (time: 02:35:02). Rafał Iwan came eighth (02:37:00). In the overall classification of the two-day competition, Mariusz Kowal won, while Magdalena Balana was the best among the women. The pair received the main prizes from the Mayor of Bolesławiec, worth PLN 1,500.

Alongside the sporting competition, a presentation of sports clubs and associations was held in the green areas above the petrol station. A food stand and booths selling bicycle accessories were prepared for the public. Performances of bicycle acrobatics by the Wrocław group Street Headache proved particularly popular. The biggest applause from those watching the bicycle stunts was elicited by a somersault performed from a moving bicycle.

The International Mountain Bike Races were organized by the Municipality of Bolesławiec. The event was handled by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. The two-day event was co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg IIIa Poland–Saxony program.
