The aim of the competition is to promote and popularize poetry, inspire talented young people to pursue artistic exploration in this field, provide an opportunity to present their skills on a professional stage, and receive professional evaluation. The competition, which is open to secondary-school students and adults from Lubin County, is conducted in the form of four separate tournaments:
- Recitation Tournament – the repertoire includes three works, in full or in excerpts: two poetic works and prose; the participant performs the prose and one poetic work (up to 10 minutes)
- “Derived from the Word” Tournament – the repertoire is unrestricted (e.g. a poem or its excerpt, a literary monologue, a collage of texts), as is the form of presentation (e.g. a one-poem theatre performance, combining the spoken word with singing, sound, movement or props)
- One-Actor Theatre Tournament – participants must prepare a performance based on any literary material (up to 30 minutes)
- Sung Poetry Tournament – the repertoire includes three sung works and one recited work.
The jurors of the District Eliminations select the participants who advance to the next stage of the competition – the Regional Eliminations, held in Legnica (April 25).
The organizers are accepting applications until February 23 (room 20).
