On Friday, Earth Day was celebrated at the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół Specjalnych. On this occasion, students and teachers prepared a ceremonial assembly. During the assembly, they spoke about the problems of polluted natural environments, the impact of civilizational progress on nature, and the students’ role in caring for greenery in our town every day. On the school grounds, students and teachers planted 10 sycamores, 35 conifers, and ornamental shrubs. These included forsythias, lilacs, and sumacs.
The school also hosted the sixth edition of the “Sprzątanie Świata” competition. Organized by the Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury, the competition involved collecting recyclable materials and preparing artwork on ecological themes. The competition results and exhibition of the works will take place at the Bolesławieckie Centrum Edukacji Ekologicznej at the MDK.
No one needs convincing that the students and teachers of the Powiatowy Zespół Szkół Specjalnych care about the natural environment. It is enough to mention that during the Sprzątanie Świata campaign, they cleaned up the area around the school building, the park on Zgorzelecka Street, and the sports field located near the Bóbr River.
