The agenda included items concerning the appointment of a permanent Audit Committee, changes to the budget, consent for the lease of land and premises, as well as a resolution on determining the remuneration of the Mayor of the City and Municipality of Bogatynia. The councillors also voted on authorising their representatives to participate in the work of the Joint Council of the “Small Triangle” Association of Cities Zittau – Bogatynia – Hradek nad Nisou.

The session, convened by Chairwoman Dorota Bojakowska, began at 9:00 a.m. One of the first agenda items was the adoption of a resolution on appointing the Audit Committee. It is the most important committee of the Municipal Council. Its duties include supervising the activities of the mayor and the municipality’s organisational and auxiliary units. The Audit Committee gives its opinion on the implementation of the municipal budget and submits a motion to the council on whether to grant or withhold a vote of approval for the mayor. During this term, the Audit Committee will include the following councillors: Ryszard Morawski, Michał Kubica, Marek Marczak, Artur Siwak, Tomasz Korniak, Filip Barbachowski and Henryk Komarnicki.

During Wednesday’s session, the councillors adopted a resolution concerning changes to the budget. The municipality’s budget revenue was increased by PLN 1,167,618.48, budget expenditure was increased by PLN 1,427,729.48, and expenditure was reduced by PLN 260,111.00. One of the more important items was the allocation of an additional PLN 100,000 for renovations to the gynaecology and neonatal wards of the hospital in Bogatynia. Increasing budget expenditure on education in Bogatynia was also important.

The councillors adopted a number of resolutions consenting to the lease of land and commercial premises. One item was the adoption of a resolution concerning the remuneration of the Mayor of the City and Municipality of Bogatynia. In accordance with the draft, the remuneration remained unchanged.

The council’s subsequent resolutions concerned a change in the membership of the Statute Committee, where councillor Krzysztof Musielak was replaced by Zygmunt Kostecki. The councillors also authorised their representatives to work on the Joint Council of the “Small Triangle” Association of Cities Zittau – Bogatynia – Hradek nad Nisou. The following joined the association’s council: Filip Barbachowski, Krzysztof Peremicki, Jerzy Wiśniewski, Jarosław Woźnicki, Krystyna Gnacy.
