Monday got off to an unfortunate start on the roads of Bolesławiec. The rain made the roadways slippery. In the afternoon, near the village of Czerna, a Renault 19 passenger car left the road. The accident occurred on a bend near the cemetery. A young man, the Renault driver, was injured and taken to the hospital in Bolesławiec with serious injuries. He suffered injuries to his skull and chest.
The second accident occurred in Bolesławiec on Zygmunta Augusta Street. An Opel Astra and an Opel Ascona collided head-on. The force of the impact was so great that the front sections of both cars were completely destroyed. Two injured people were taken to hospital. Their lives were not in danger, so they had already been discharged and sent home.

The person responsible for the accident on Zygmunta Augusta Street was the 59-year-old driver of the Opel Astra. The man was drunk; his exhaled air contained 2 per mille of alcohol.
