Yesterday, dead birds were found in a settling pond on the premises of the "Wizów" Chemical Plant. Employees of the District Veterinary Inspectorate took the swans for testing to determine whether they were infected with avian flu. It seems, however, that the swans were simply poisoned by something. More will be known about this in the coming days.
The District Veterinary Officer reminds residents that bans are in force on organizing fairs, exhibitions, shows and competitions involving birds; selling birds at marketplaces; and keeping chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, guinea fowl, pigeons (except homing pigeons), pheasants and partridges in open spaces.
