This year, residents and local government officials will sit down to a shared Christmas Eve dinner on Friday, December 19. At 6:00 p.m., hot beetroot soup and traditional Christmas Eve dishes prepared by Bolesławiec restaurateurs will be served. Christmas carols will be performed by the Bolesławiec Municipal Brass Band. Residents will sing carols together, share the Christmas wafer and exchange good wishes. Scouts from the Bolesławiec branch of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association will pass on the Bethlehem Light of Peace. The Holy Family will arrive at the Market Square. The competition for the Christmas Nativity Scene will be decided. We also encourage you to take part in a blood donation drive organized by the Polish Red Cross.
As every year, there will be a nativity scene with live animals. This year's event program includes a Nativity play performed by the youngest residents of Bolesławiec from Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 7; a Christmas Concert by members of the Association of Reemigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends; an aerobics marathon; and an outdoor performance by Krakow Street Theatre, the Kaleidoscope Stage. The actors travel among the audience with a mobile Christmas Eve table, like jugglers in a medieval castle. In the world conjured up together, the audience take on the roles of townspeople, set the festive table and prepare a Christmas Eve dish together with the artists.
This year's Bolesławiec Star of Kindness is organized by: the Municipality of Bolesławiec, the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre, the Association of Reemigrants from Bosnia, Their Descendants and Friends, the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62 Commando Special Forces Unit, the Municipal Social Welfare Centre, the Polish Red Cross, and the Bolesławiec ZHP Scout Troop named after the Gray Ranks.
In addition, Bolesławiec institutions and companies joined the preparations for the shared Christmas Eve dinner in the Market Square, including Kurna Chata, Opałkowa Chata, the Honorary Blood Donors Club of the Military Unit, the Management Board of the PCK District Branch, PCK Volunteers, Big Pol S.C. Fruit and Vegetable Wholesaler, the Complex of General and Vocational Schools, AP Niziałek Bakery and Confectionery Company, Berezowscy Bakery and Retail Trade, Kruk Bakery, Andrzej Laudański Bakery, Gąsiorowski Bakery, Stanisław Brzozowski Bakery, PHU Oleńka Antonina Kopała-Wdowiak and Jerzy Giszter, PHU AGMA Agnieszka Mancewicz, as well as school cafeteria staff members Władysława Nosal and Jolanta Sobolewska.
