The match began calmly. Neither team pressed the pace. Little happened on the pitch during the first quarter of an hour, with play taking place mainly in midfield. In the 13th minute, the visitors fired a powerful but very inaccurate shot at the BKS goal. In the 16th minute, Marcin Ciliński took a throw-in level with the visitors’ penalty area. Tomasz Jasiński took advantage of a mistake by Polonia’s defenders and, with a fine shot, sent the ball into the right corner of the visitors’ goal. The ball also deflected off a defender on the way, further confusing the goalkeeper. In the 29th minute, Tomasz Jasiński had another chance to score, but the ball went past Świdnica’s goalpost. A minute later, Wojtek Walusiak failed to take advantage of an opportunity. After a cross into the penalty area, the player made poor contact with his header. The ball fell to Paweł Rissmann, but his header sent it high over the visitors’ crossbar. The end of the first half belonged to BKS, but the second goal did not come until after the break.
In the second half, the players from Świdnica began playing more aggressively. Our defenders often could not keep up with the visiting forwards. One such attack could have ended with a penalty for the visitors. However, the referee saw no foul in Robert Nitarski’s intervention. Although the visitors were attacking with increasing danger, BKS scored the next goal. Wojtek Walusiak scored his first goal in a BKS shirt, beating the visiting goalkeeper with a powerful shot into the far corner after an individual run. From the 52nd minute, BKS led 2–0.
After conceding the second goal, Polonia’s players threw themselves into making up the deficit. BKS, meanwhile, fell back into defence and focused on counterattacks. From that moment on, Marek Przykłota demonstrated his abilities. The BKS goalkeeper saved several dangerous shots. During one of his interventions, his ribs were badly hurt. In the 71st minute, Marek Przykłota prevented his team from conceding, saving a powerful shot from the visitors. Ten minutes later, Paweł Fulczyński scored BKS’s third goal. The Bolesławiec player beat the visiting goalkeeper with a shot under the crossbar and set the final score. In the final minutes, the BKS players played nervously and chaotically, but fortunately the score did not change. BKS defeated Polonia-Sparta Świdnica 3–0.
