The first session was opened by senior councillor Ryszard Kaprawy, who administered the oath to the councillors. “16 November 2014 will go down in history as the day of the seventh free, democratic and independent local-government elections in post-war Poland. On that day, the residents of Bolesławiec Commune entrusted 15 of their representatives with serving as councillors,” said Ryszard Kaprawy.

The councillors took the oath after the text had first been read aloud. The youngest councillor, Agnieszka Miszkiewicz, oversaw the smooth running of this part of the session.

After the agenda was adopted, the council proceeded to elect the chair of the Commune Council. Bogusław Ireneusz Uziej was nominated. The deputy chairs of the Bolesławiec Commune Council were then elected. The positions will be held by Grażyna Krystyna Łucka and Michał Gajewski. Ryszard Kaprawy became chair of the Audit Committee; Henryk Borucki, chair of the Agriculture and Environmental Protection Committee; Andrzej Chudzik, chair of the Economic Development and Finance Committee; and Andrzej Szwedo, chair of the Education, Culture, Sport and Social Affairs Committee.

Zofia Kojder, chair of the Bolesławiec Commune Electoral Commission, presented Andrzejowi Dutkowskiemu with his certificate of election as commune head. After taking the required oath, the commune head spoke and said that he was counting on fruitful and successful cooperation among all the councillors.

“I am convinced that through our joint work, four years from now, when the seventh term passes into history, we will be able to say that our small homeland continued to develop and change for the benefit of our residents,” said Andrzej Dutkowski. “At present, we are all creating one commune family, whose task is to care for the common good.
