For the fourth time, students and teachers of the Sybiraks Middle School in Jerzmanki are inviting fifth- and sixth-grade students from primary schools in the municipality to the Andrzejki Tournament for the Gmina Zgorzelec Head’s Cup. The cup will be new because, under the rules, a three-time winner keeps the trophy permanently. Last year, the students of the primary school in Osiek Łużycki achieved this feat. Will anyone finally defeat them in this year’s tournament?
On Friday, 28 November, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., students will compete in several events centered on games with string, including estimating length; creating geometric figures, inscriptions and drawings; tying objects to string; and throwing at a target. The middle-school students have also prepared entertaining Andrzejki fortune-telling activities and a video presentation about school life. Visitors will be able to see how the e-class works. Refreshments and small gifts, such as the latest issue of “Gimnazeta,” will also be available.
