The board of the Lubin-based Association “Together for Lubin and the County” (comprising: Aleksandra Dąbrowska, chairwoman; Krzysztof Olszowiak, deputy chairman; Andrzej Kołpa, deputy chairman; Roman Burczak, secretary; Tomasz Kołodziejczyk, treasurer) adopted a resolution on 20 November endorsing Irena Rogowska as a candidate for head of the neighbouring commune. (Rogowska’s rival in the race for the position is Tadeusz Kielan, a vice-president of a municipal company, who makes no secret of wanting to incorporate the commune into the city.)

At a joint press conference held in Lubin on 24 November, members of the Association confirmed their support for the unity and independence of Lubin Rural Commune. In their view, the Rural Commune can and should cooperate with the city, but on the basis of partnership and only as an independent local-government unit.
