Four candidates competed for the office of mayor. In the first round, incumbent mayor Andrzej Grzmielewicz achieved an unrivalled result, receiving the support of almost 70% of voters.

The incumbent mayor received 7,265 votes, decisively defeating his rivals:

  • Artur Oliasz received 434 votes
  • Marek Tomala won 380 votes
  • Mariusz Tureniec received 2,850 votes.

As we read on the UGiM Bogatynia website, “such enormous support is a summary of many years of the mayor’s work, for whom the sustainable development of the town and municipality set the direction of his activities, but as he has always emphasised himself: »For me, the most important thing is the Human Being«.”

So far, none of Bogatynia’s mayors has won a third consecutive election.
