After four consecutive wins, BKS Bobrzanie’s senior team suffered a defeat. In the 14th round of the Lower Silesian fourth-division competition, Bolesławiec lost 0–2 away to Olimpia Kowary (0–0).

The first half was very even. Both teams started cautiously, taking care to protect their defenses, and play mainly took place in the middle of the pitch. There was considerable confusion in the Olimpia Kowary penalty area as early as the 8th minute, when Ohagwu attempted an overhead kick, but the home goalkeeper managed to tip the ball over the crossbar. The hosts did not show anything special during this period of the match. Although they managed to take several shots at the BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec goal, they were either very inaccurate or saved by Mazur, who was guarding our goal. In the 25th minute, BKS had another good chance to score. On the left, Dzięgleski nicely outmaneuvered the opponents’ defense and shot at goal, but the Olimpia goalkeeper managed to parry the ball. Pazio reached the ball as well, but the powerful shot by our defender heading into the net was blocked by a defender from Kowary. The score was therefore still level at halftime, and given our players’ good performance, there was hope of taking at least a point from this difficult venue.

From the start of the second half, Olimpia Kowary took the initiative and repeatedly advanced toward our penalty area, creating danger for BKS. In the 50th minute, the hosts unleashed a very powerful shot at our goal, fortunately wide. In the 57th minute, Kosior and then Ohagwu took good shots at the Kowary goal, but unfortunately we had nothing to show for them. The hosts’ pressure clearly increased during this part of the match, and a goal for Olimpia began to look imminent. In the 62nd minute, the referee judged that a home player had been fouled in the penalty area and awarded Kowary a penalty, which Han converted.

BKS threw itself into trying to recover from the deficit and came very close. In the 68th minute, it should have been 1–1. Ziółkowski, who had entered the pitch a minute earlier, sent Ohagwu through with an excellent pass. Despite a defender on his back, the BKS striker blasted a shot from outside the penalty area, but the ball bounced off the crossbar and, according to the referee, had not crossed the goal line. BKS players sensed a chance to score and began to play more boldly in Olimpia’s half, but they lacked a decisive finish. In the 76th minute, we were caught on the counterattack and, after a shot by Chajewski, we were already losing 0–2. When Dudka had to leave the pitch a minute later after receiving two yellow cards, it became clear that we would get nothing from the match. The final stages saw our players enjoy the advantage, but we were unable to score a consolation goal.

Despite the unfavorable result, BKS’s players deserve applause because they made life difficult for the match favorites and, even at 0–2, had a chance to take at least a point from Kowary. Although Olimpia Kowary was the better team, it cannot say that victory came easily.

On Saturday, in the final round of the autumn season, BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec will host Zjednoczeni Żarów.
