The Zgorzelec County Council considered resolutions concerning Zgorzelec County for the last time in this composition. During the session, the councillors adopted, among others, a resolution on merging the Independent Public Healthcare Institution in Szklarska Poręba with the Multidisciplinary Hospital – Independent Public Healthcare Complex in Zgorzelec, and on establishing the network of public upper-secondary schools and special schools for the 2014/2015 school year.
Those gathered at the ceremonial session also learned about the implementation of the educational tasks of Zgorzelec County during the 2013/2014 school year.
During the session, village councils that had participated in the “Our village – we have something to be proud of” competition were honoured. The main prize (PLN 10,000) went to the Jagodzin village council. In addition, the honorary badge “Meritorious for Zgorzelec County” was awarded to members of the Zgorzelec County Beekeepers’ Association: Mieczysław Okoń, Leszek Tumielewicz and Wacław Owsianik.
A special part of the session was a summary of the fourth term of the Zgorzelec County Council, 2010–2014. The Chair of the County Council, Stanisław Żuk, thanked all council members, the county board, and the directors and employees of the organisational units for their cooperation.
