In Wednesday’s fire, a family from Brzozowa Street lost all their belongings. Assistance to the affected people is being provided by the Polish Red Cross, the Society of the Friends of Children, the Polish Committee for Social Assistance, the Municipal Social Welfare Center and the Caritas team at the Parish of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on Orzeszkowa Street.
The victims are receiving food, clothing and financial assistance. The city mayor has also joined the relief effort for the fire victims. Those affected by the fire will receive two apartments from the city’s municipal housing resources. In addition, Caritas will hold a fundraising campaign. The six people from the burned house are currently staying at the MOSiR hotel and in the Crisis Intervention Rooms.
