On 9 October, the officers noticed the window of a clothing store displaying women’s Louis Vuitton handbags. They found that the quality of their workmanship raised suspicions about their authenticity. The inspection revealed 9 handbags bearing the protected trademarks of Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbane.
Three days later, an inspection was carried out at the Jelenia Góra bazaar. In total, 11 counterfeit women’s handbags, one pair of shoes and 64 units of perfume were seized. The originals of all these products would have cost nearly PLN 50,000.
Those who put products bearing counterfeit trademarks into circulation may face up to two years in prison.
