In the Council Chamber of Bolesławiec Town Hall, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman, together with Józef Pokładek and Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk, representing the Bolesławiec City Council, presented the authors and editors with the publication and flowers. Jan Cołokidzi, president of the Ziemia Bolesławiecka Association, also conveyed his congratulations to the authors. The launch was hosted by editor-in-chief Edmund Maliński.

The “Bolesławiec Yearbook 2013” contains an illustrated chronicle of the most important events of the past year, as well as thematically diverse, cross-sectional articles concerning people and phenomena connected with the city. The section Research into the History of Bolesławiec presents articles devoted to the 1947 elections to the Legislative Sejm in Bolesławiec County, the history of the 12th Special Regiment of the Internal Security Corps (12th Cavalry Regiment), and the arrival of re-emigrants from Yugoslavia in the Bolesławiec Region in 1946–1948. The publication also includes texts devoted, among other things, to the 20th anniversary of the Bolesławiec–Siegburg partnership, the fate of plein-air sculptures in Bolesławiec, the history of the Museum of Ceramics in 1971–2001, the history of the Bolesławiec Economic Society in 1990–2013, amateur artistic groups at Bolesławiec cultural and educational institutions in 1945–1976, and the Inter-Company Club of Trade and Cooperative Workers Relaks.

The Announcements section discusses the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the outbreak of the January Uprising, the 10th anniversary of Carpe Diem, the activities of the first-term Bolesławiec Senior Citizens’ Council, the history of the District Beekeepers’ Association in Bolesławiec, the work and life of beekeeper Aleksandra Juchniewicz, and the history of the banner of the NSZZ Solidarność Konrad Mining Works and Bolesławiec Solidarność.

The Yearbook also presents profiles of well-known Bolesławiec artists: writer and translator Iwona Banach; ceramic designers Marta Małoszyc-Silbert and Mariusz Ochocki; architect and painter Ryszard Jethon; and jewelry designer Sabina Hil. Alongside texts devoted to the bands Obstawa Prezydenta and Sumptuastic, readers will also find interviews with renowned Wrocław artist Władysław Garnik and acclaimed musician Tomasz Wachnowski. The publication also includes memoirs by Danuta Maślicka and Zygmunt Brusiło.

The section devoted to deceased Bolesławiec residents who made notable contributions to the city presents profiles of Adam Wacław Kowalski (1907–2003), Wiesław Ołenicz (1933–1993), and Józef Szczerba (1928–1983). The publication concludes with reviews of books published the previous year and devoted to the city and the Bolesławiec Region: the exhibition catalogue “Bolesławiec Ceramics on the Road to Modernity,” compiled by A. Bober-Tubaj, A. Bojanowska, B. Glinkowska, J. Kutschera, T. Orawiec, A. Puk and K. Stanicka-Brzezicka; “Joachim” and the guidebook “Morocco” by Grażyna Hanaf; “Bolesławiec Painted in Word and Image” by Kamilla Dudek; “We Had No Childhood… Memories of Bolesławiec Siberian Deportees,” edited by A. Gorzkowicz, E. Ołenicz-Bernacka and A. Puk; and “1813–2013. The Bicentenary of the Napoleonic Campaign in Silesia,” edited by J. Maroń, G. Strauchold and A. Olejniczek.
