Piotr Żak, a former official under Piotr Roman and a specialist in urban architecture, is the Bolesławiec platform’s chosen one. The man will have a difficult task simply presenting himself to the people of Bolesławiec. He will have to jump quite a bit to emerge from behind the starosta’s peacock’s tail, even for a moment. Before the elections, they say, the starosta does not fold his tail, even while sleeping. And everyone is scratching their heads, wondering whether some mechanism keeps the tail up in this state, or whether it is pure magic.
Karol Stasik was creating a smokescreen by claiming that he would put Marshal Przybylski forward to compete against Roman, but the latter apparently, just as he was not interested in serving as starosta in our county, does not want to be president either. Apparently, he dreams of a career as a rally driver and even practices fast driving. If Schetyna’s wolves get to him, a fast car and his driving skills will certainly come in handy.
What interests me most is what program the Civic Platform candidate will present to us. It is possible that he will surprise the people of Bolesławiec with some dazzling urban-planning and architectural transformation. For example, he could turn the courthouse into a wax museum. Perhaps he will manage to reclassify the Basilica of the Virgin Mary as a less significant building. Then he could sell it at a profit to some entrepreneur, who would set up a wedding center there. One can imagine what he will do with the town hall. Most likely, he will trample it into the ground and turn it into casemates. After buying a ticket, we will be able to watch the defeated enemies, chained to the walls.
The only thing I fear is an accident at work. Our Team, with its visibility limited by the tail, may, in the heat of battle, throw its own candidate into the chasm of doom along with his phenomenal potential.
