Piotr Żak has become the candidate for president representing the Platform of the Bolesławiec County Local Government. The Platform mainly brings together members of Platforma Obywatelska.
Piotr Żak was the city architect until the end of 2012, subordinate to the current president. His contract was terminated by mutual agreement. Żak later ran his own office. He briefly attracted attention in March this year, when it turned out that he had authored anonymous offensive comments about journalists from the Istotne.pl portal.
Żak's candidacy was officially confirmed by Karol Stasik, the head of Platforma Obywatelska. “Everyone has their good and bad sides. He is the candidate of the Platform of the Bolesławiec County Local Government. Any other committee may also support him,” Stasik said.
