The crime took place on 13 July this year near the garages on Tkacka Street in Jelenia Góra. The victim went there to meet an acquaintance. When he arrived, he was attacked by two men who beat and kicked him, and one of them smashed a bottle over his head.
The third suspect watched the entire incident and did not react to his companions’ actions.
The attackers then ordered the victim to get into the car. After leaving Jelenia Góra, 39-year-old Robert S. ordered the victim to contact someone who would pay PLN 5,000 in ransom for him.
The man was told to put his head between his knees and pull up his T-shirt so that he could not see the road. The attackers threatened that if he did not do so, they would use a knife.
In Wolbromów, on the grounds of an old brickworks, the kidnappers ordered the victim to get out of the car, beat him again and told him to jump into a pit almost 8 metres deep.
The perpetrators were arrested that same day. Firefighters pulled the victim out of the “dungeon”.
Two of the accused—Robert S. and 33-year-old Marek B.—are repeat offenders. The third suspect, Adam M., had also previously been convicted. All three were remanded in custody.
The kidnappers could face up to 25 years in prison.
