The sessions are led by an instructor who teaches parents how to spend time with their child at the swimming pool in a pleasant, safe and healthy way. During the classes, each child in the water is accompanied by a parent. The activities include becoming accustomed to the aquatic environment, gymnastics and developing habits that enhance the child’s safety in the water. They also build a foundation that, at a later age, will support learning swimming techniques.
If the parent is relaxed and convinced that this is a good form of activity, there is a strong chance that the child will feel comfortable in the water during the classes from the very beginning. At the sessions, the little ones learn, among other things, the correct body position on their stomachs and backs, breathing into the water, basic arm and leg movements, and jumping into the water. Singing songs and playing familiar games are also part of the activities.
In addition, such classes support the rehabilitation of children with dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system and integrate children with disabilities with able-bodied children, both physically and mentally. The time spent in the classes should be used to play with the child. Joint exercises help build a strong emotional bond.
Each participant will receive an underwater photograph as a souvenir.
