The 14th finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was organized in our town for the first time by young people affiliated with the Bolesławiec Volunteer Center MISIO and KAH. On Sunday before noon, performances by various groups began on a stage set up in the Market Square. Tents were set up beside the stage. They offered soldiers’ pea soup and raffles. It was also possible to order a “singing telegram” there. Children’s faces were painted and cosmetics were presented at the Town Hall.

From 4:00 p.m., hip-hop groups performed at the Pegaz club: ZSP Abstrakt, Lili, Kategoria, WRZ & R.A.Z., and Jaro Beatbox. Performers at the Old Theater included the “Na Boku” cabaret, the “Tygrys Ogłuszony Domem” group, the Animation Activities Group, Paweł Tumiło with Katarzyna Szurgot, and the “Tuatha deh Danaan” Irish dance group. During breaks between performances in the Market Square and the Old Theater, auctions were held for items donated by various companies, institutions and individuals.

The aim of this year’s Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was to raise money to save the lives of children injured in accidents and to teach people how to provide first aid. According to data available from midnight Sunday to Monday, WOŚP had raised more than PLN 24 million across the country.
