I don’t know how to comment on this. Should I congratulate him on making a fool of himself? Congratulate him on his stupidity?
Maciej Małkowski, deputy president of the Ziemia Bolesławiecka Association, has so little to offer the people of Bolesławiec in the electoral race that he decided to pour a bucket of ice-cold water over himself and persuade three other people to join in this stupidity: the mayor, the county head, and a colleague from the “media world”—that is, from the... Bolec website. As they say, no one knows what the author had in mind, and a normal person wouldn’t figure it out for the life of them.
Małkowski watched too many idiotic videos on the Internet and decided to take part in the splash—the “dousing.” It involves various people pouring ice-cold water over themselves, recording the feat, uploading the video online, and “nominating”—challenging, like children at school—other people to commit the same stupidity. Anyone nominated who does not choose to douse themselves must pay 100 zlotys to a charitable cause.
As they say, when God wants to punish someone, he takes away their reason. But for someone to pour a bucket of cold water over themselves and still not come to their senses—that is an unprecedented situation.
