At the intersection closed to traffic (with the exception of public transport and emergency services), a stormwater drainage system with a diameter of 1 metre is being reconstructed. Pipes of this diameter will be connected to manholes, which is a complicated operation due to the size of the components. The water and sewage system is also being reconstructed. Old pipes with diameters of 800 mm and 400 mm will be replaced by a single network with a diameter of 600 mm. All this work is being carried out in deep excavations. In addition, the scope of work includes eliminating conflicts between various utility networks.
Meanwhile, on Grabskiego Street, paving blocks are being laid on the roadway, while curbs and sidewalk slabs are also being installed. This section is slowly changing its appearance.
Let us recall: work on one of the city's most important road investments began at the end of March with demolition work on Grabskiego Street. On 10 April, road workers moved onto the intersection of Jaworzyńska, Muzealna, Skarbka and Gwarna streets. Work on this section has already been completed.
On Grabskiego Street, the work began with the removal of shrubs and trees that stood in the way of the investment. The next stage was the demolition of 13 old utility buildings, such as barns and workshops. The city had previously purchased 11 of them from private owners. The drainage system was also replaced. The reconstructed section of Grabskiego Street, from Wojska Polskiego Street, will have two roadways paved with paving blocks. The investment on this street is the next stage in the construction of the southern collector road, carried out as part of the reconstruction of Jaworzyńska Street. Work on this section should be completed by 22 December this year.
