At the invitation of Senator Jan Michalski, representatives of the Women’s Rural Housewives’ Associations from Gromadka, Tomaszów Bolesławiecki and Ocice visited Parliament. During their Friday stay in Warsaw, the group of twenty toured the chambers of both houses, learning about the work of parliamentarians, Poland’s political system and the history of the buildings. At the end of the two-hour tour, the senator’s guests met in one of the rooms where Senate committees normally deliberate. It was an opportunity to offer birthday wishes to one of the women, who turned 71 that day.
The trip to the Sejm and Senate was Senator Michalski’s special prize for participants in the “Most Beautiful Easter Table” competition. The annual showcase of Easter dishes is organized by the Bolesławiec District Office and the District Council of Women’s Rural Housewives’ Associations. This year’s competition was held in Bożejowice.
