In February this year, BTS successfully concluded the season, finishing fifth in the III League table. League competition will begin in autumn, but the board of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie is not resting on its laurels. The club has acquired a naming sponsor: the Bolesławiec-based company Elektros, which has worked with our volleyball team almost from the very beginning. In the coming season, BTS’s senior team will be called BTS Elektros. – I am very pleased about this, because it shows that someone who was with us for a year is not afraid to take the next step – says Jacek Łuczkowski, president of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie.
New companies associated with Bolesławiec are expected to join the group of sponsors, including Bolesławiec-based Manufaktura, Restauracja pod Wiaduktem and STW. – I think that thanks to this, the other ceramic plants and companies will also be convinced to support us – adds the club’s head. – Moreover, thanks to the sponsor, BTS will have a proper website.
The volleyball players continue their cooperation with three local governments. Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec provided the club with grants of PLN 10,000 (the senior team) and PLN 2,000 (recreational activities at Miejski Zespół Szkół nr 3, where a volleyball class is soon to be launched). Jacek Łuczkowski also thanks Robert Tomczyk, president of TOP Bolesławiec, Robertowi Tomczykowi for loaning players. – BTS is strengthening its cooperation with TOP. Many graduates of that club currently play in BTS’s senior team. I cannot disclose the details of the arrangements, but everything indicates that from the new season all men’s volleyball in Bolesławiec—youth and senior sections—will be part of BTS, while women’s volleyball will remain at TOP – explains the president of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie.
BTS has cooperated with Powiat Bolesławiecki from the very beginning. Thanks to this cooperation, future matches involving our volleyball players will be held in the gymnasium of I Liceum Ogólnokształcącego. – The comfort of the fans will certainly be greater – the president says with a smile.
Meanwhile, thanks to wójt Andrzejowi Dutkowskiemu, BTS instructors conduct volleyball classes in all schools of Gmina Bolesławiec, except for the school in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka.
There will also be changes to the squad. – We are still talking to setters. We have a problem in this very sensitive position. We cannot afford such shortages – says the head of BTS. – As for the names, we will not comment on them until the players have been registered.
The volleyball players continue to train and play beach volleyball. As Jacek Łuczkowski says, they are in a fighting mood. – No one is complaining – laughs the president of Bolesławieckie Towarzystwo Siatkarskie. Our players will play friendly matches in September. There is one goal: promotion to the II League.
