On Saturday, April 5, Senator Jan Michalski was a member of the jury in Bożejowice, where, for the thirteenth time, Rural Housewives’ Clubs from Bolesławiec County prepared 21 Easter tables. The beautiful decorations and finest festive dishes were the criteria for selecting the most beautiful and tastiest Easter table. The dishes included żur, white borscht, food brought from various parts of the world, and homemade baked goods.
This year’s winners of the Competition for Traditional Dishes and the Most Beautiful Easter Arrangements were the members of the Rural Housewives’ Club from Trzebień. The ladies from the KGW in Wykroty took second place, while the club from Tomaszów Bolesławiecki came third.
In addition, Senator Jan Michalski presented special awards for the Most Beautiful Easter Table. The Rural Housewives’ Clubs from Gromadka, Tomaszów Bolesławiecki and Bożejowice-Rakowice received distinctions. The Senator invited the winners and organizers to visit the Sejm and Senate.
Among the guests in attendance were, among others: Lower Silesian Voivodeship Marshal Cezary Przybylski, Bolesławiec County Head Dariusz Kwaśniewski, Bolesławiec Municipality Head Andrzej Dutkowski and Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman.
