The tragedy took place on Tuesday, April 1, in an apartment on Opitza Street. Before 3:00 p.m., police officers from Bolesławiec received a report that two people—a 36-year-old mother and her two-year-old son—had been taken to hospital. The woman had cut wrists and two abdominal wounds; the child had as many as five stab wounds to his abdomen and a forearm wound.
As we managed to establish, the 36-year-old woman has two children. One of them was with his grandmother, who lives in the neighboring apartment. At one point, the older woman came to her daughter’s apartment and noticed that her child and grandson were lying in blood.
A neighbor came to help; she had once worked in an operating theater. Thanks to her composure, the injured people did not bleed to death before the ambulance arrived.
The father of both children was not at home; he is abroad. The 36-year-old woman probably injured her son herself and tried to cut her own veins.
Doctors in Bolesławiec fought for the child’s life for several hours. If the two-year-old’s condition stabilizes, he will be transferred to a hospital in Legnica.
