The ninth edition of the “MAUPa” Puzzle-Laying Marathon was held on Saturday, February 22, in the conference room of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec with its registered office in Kruszyn. The competition, started with a pistol shot by the chairperson of the Bolesławiec Municipal Council Bogusław Uziej, featured 11 teams: Pursuit Group, Twintki, Dream Team, Quatro Ragazze, Grupa Nie Na Żarty(ch), Może Być Problem, Wesoła Czwórka, Drużyna ES, Mufinki, Wrzosowa Kraina and Four Sexy Boys.
Pursuit Group proved to be the best for the sixth consecutive time (the team consisted of: Agnieszka Kołodziej, Bożena Wieczorek, Karolina Wieczorek and Natalia Kołodziej). It took the champions 6 hours and 48 minutes to assemble the 1,500-piece Castorland puzzle, depicting a snow leopard.
Grupa Nie Na Żarty(ch), consisting of Marzena Szymborska, Katarzyna Bis, Agata Żuk and Natalia Górak, took second place. Third place went ex aequo to Dream Team (consisting of: Brygida Laudani, Teresa Mularczyk, Weronika Pawlikowska, Edyta Pawlikowska and Marzena Miler) and Twintki (Grażyna Skrzypacz, Agnieszka Konefał, Monika Kalita and Teofila Kalita).
The competition was enhanced by a performance from dancers from Tierra Flamenca. The ladies from Stowarzyszenia Kobiet Aktywnych z Lipian (Wioski Smaków) prepared a corner serving delicious food. The event was accompanied by the annual Night at the Library initiative.
The media patron of the event was the “Istotne Informacje” news portal and newspaper. The marathon was sponsored by Castorland.
