In the Nationwide Competition for a Work in the Surrealist Style “An Egg Bigger Than a Hen? – Unreal?!” in the drawing and painting category, works by seven-year-old Maja Nuckowska and eight-year-old Karolina Guzowska received awards. Oliwia Witek received an honorable mention in the competition. The girls study at the Academy of Art studio run by Stanisława Wojda-Pytlińska. Fourteen-year-old Marta Marzec from the glass and stained-glass studio run by Magdalena Konieczna also received an honorable mention in the competition.

The competition, organized by the Department of Education of the Wrocław Municipal Office and the “Śródmieście” Youth Cultural Centre, received 877 entries. The jury awarded 32 works equally and gave honorable mentions to 55. The exhibition opening will be held on January 28 at 12:00 at the Gallery of Young People’s Artistic Creativity – “Śródmieście” Youth Cultural Centre in Wrocław. The exhibition will be open until February 20.

In the 4th Nationwide Art Competition “Pop Culture Icons – a Portrait of a Cinema Person and Their Legend,” honorable mentions went to thirteen-year-old Justyna Deberny and eleven-year-old Julia Zatylny from the ceramic and sculpture studio run by Edyta Orlińska. The competition, organized by the Youth Cultural Centre in Wrocław, received 759 painting, drawing, graphic and ceramic works.

The second exhibition opening and ceremonial meeting of the laureates, combined with the presentation of awards, will be held on January 31 at 12:00 at the Cultural Education Centre for Children and Young People. The post-competition exhibition will be open until February 23.
